Since the time the Vienna based band Holly May released their Debut EP "Where are The Brilliant Ballerinas" in 2001, there is no need to worry about the state of Female Indie Pop that is still in a globally unrepresented state. With their first release that was recorded in "fucking cold" Umea in the North of Sweden, Holly May managed to capture the crystal winter beauty in their ether cooled guitar pop tracks.

With their new LP the band that has shrunk to a trio has convincingly developed their own pop style from tender to challenging vocals, active and playful guitar tunes, tight to melancholic rhythms on drums and bonus instruments like melodic keyboards and for the first time a Cello.

It is no longer possible to hear the hardcore roots of Tanja and Lisa's beginnings in the Vienna hardcore band the Whymandrakes. Instead, their new songs quickly put you into a quiet hypnotic state of mind.
